Farwell King of Pop
Michael Jackson(Aug 29, 1958) passed away suddenly on June 25, 2009 due to cardiac arrest.
Known as King of Pop, he was a singer since he was 11 years old. He was the first singer that I known on the MTV days, that was when I was a toddler. It was the time he released his record, Thriller. His later known records, HIStory and Dangerous were also hits. One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and the sales of over 750 million albums worldwide. Cited as one of the world's most famous men, Jackson's highly publicized personal life, coupled with his successful career, made him a part of popular culture for almost four decades.
My personal favorite songs: We are the World and You Are Not Alone.

Perez Hilton Scuffle in Toronto
Usually I would post entertainment stuff to my entertainment blog, but I would post this entry here first. It was extremely difficult not to have an opinion, which I do have. I believe that Perez has the right to be a human, be upset, be who he is and he may say things he might regret. This will include all human beings, even if it hurts others, if people apologize for their behaviors, we can only take for the value as it is.

Tony Award 2008-2009 Highlights

Iconic counterculture tuner "Hair" took the nod for musical revival, providing vindication for originating producer the Public Theater, which was shut out of Tony glory in 1969 when the premiere production lost the musical award to "1776."
The Tony was Lansbury's first for a non-musical role, following wins for "Mame" (1966), "Dear World" (1969), "Gypsy" (1975) and "Sweeney Todd" (1979). Lansbury now equals Julie Harris as the only performer to win five acting Tonys, though Harris retains the edge, having added a lifetime achievement nod in 2002.
Host Neil Patrick Harris supplied plenty of relaxed charm, healthy irreverence and the obligatory sushi joke, piloting a ceremony that delivered on its promise to load up on musical numbers and performance excerpts -- even if they did spark a few sound glitches. Angela Lansbury won her Tony for Blithe Spirit, by Noel Coward. Liza Minnelli won for her Liza's at the Palace beating out Will Ferrell's You're Welcome America. Hair won an award for best musical revival.

Word of Mouth hurts Land of the Lost

Sony's The Hangover was a surprise when it become a hit in the box office. The next movie coming out in the same fare under the same studio: Year One with Jack Black on June 19 will be the one to watch.
Meanwhile for The Hangover, “R-rated comedies typically don’t open this well so it was definitely a very big surprise,” said Gitesh Pandya, editor of BoxOfficeGuru.com. “The early word of mouth was fantastic. So there was a lot of interest, especially with young adults.”

Warner Bros.' comedy "The Hangover" grossed a boffo $43.3 million in its domestic B.O. debut, nearly edging Disney-Pixar holdover "Up," which remained No. 1 at an impressive $44.2 million. |

Up flies to the top of the box office
Less than 2 weeks after Up was featured at the Cannes, it was #1 at the North American box office taking approximately $68.2m. Night at the Museum took in $25.5m in #2 place. Folks are going to family friendly fare to escape the daily issues and the bad news. I wouldn't blame them. At least the top 6 films have over $10m in its place. Sadly, X-Men and Terminator earned dismal bucks at the box office after a few weeks.
