Dennis Hopper passed away yesterday, Saturday May 29 in the morning after a long battle with cancer. Known for his cult classics as Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet, he made remarkable career as a film actor and a director. Born May 17, 1936 in Dodge City, Kansas, Hopper was a life-long fixture in Hollywood. His long career included roles in some of the best or most well-known films from each decade of the last half-century. In the '50s he appeared in two of James Dean's three films; as one of the goons, troubling Dean's Jim Stark in 1955's Rebel Without a Cause, then as Jordan Benedict III in Giant.
More current works were: TV's 24, Land of the Dead and SNL.

US: Movies could be available as a VOD rental before DVD, Blu-ray
Quite frankly, I like this news, but the pricing, nah not as much! Would you pay up to $30 for VOD rental for newly released movie such as: Sex and the City 2 or Iron Man 2? Therefore after 30 days of the movie release, you can see the movies via VOD? Don't expect to see this be implemented until late 2011 according to WSJ. Interested parties that would go for VOD are: Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros., Walt Disney Co.'s Disney Studios, General Electric Co.'s Universal Pictures, Sony Corp.'s Sony Pictures, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures and News Corp.'s Twentieth Century Fox.
Is cable TV using VOD to lure customers back? Internet does have its pitfalls when it comes to watching live TV or hit TV shows if you're not in US.

Why not all TV shows are posted online?
Boingboing wrote an article about why online TV are not all readily available. They provided long answers and there are some of them.
First: TV networks don't own the show. Perhaps only a few far and between like Fox Network. They license them. Cable and satellite networks are not the ones that owns the shows. Not all territories would get the show. TV rights comes as priority before online rights in terms of price.
Wow, sounds backwards, as people now watches more TV online. Why not have the cost of online more than TV?
